Children of the First

Children of the First is a story about Shawn, a Dragonblood student at Raekos University, as he deals with his troubling heritage and discovers his inborn talents. There's plenty of magic, a little drama, and a ton of snark.

COTF began as a serial webnovel (essentially a novel published one chapter at a time on the internet) and was going strong-ish for twenty-five chapters, all of which are available for free on this site. Eventually though, I realized that the story wasn't quite working out how I wanted, and I had written myself into a corner or two along the way.

I decided that, instead of updating the webnovel with new chapters, I needed to rewrite the entire story from the beginning. I'm currently in the middle of the writing/rewriting process and I hope to eventually publish COTF as a "traditional" fantasy novel.

I truly appreciate the support and patience of all my readers and fans of COTF, and I apologize for leaving you hanging after 25 chapters. I really do feel terrible about that.

The existing chapters and bonus content will remain available on this site for the foreseeable future, but I don't plan on putting up any new updates for quite some time. Sorry.

It's been a lot of fun, a lot of work, and a lot of learning as I went along, but the webnovel is over. Next up: Children of the First, the novel (made of paper!)
